Northern Mexico is currently torn by a violent narco traffic war that has existed for years, but is currently reaching new heights of violence and destruction. Breakarts is currently working with community organizations in efforts to create an arts based community development plan that promotes peace and reconciliation in Culiacan. Current ideas include a three-part initiative that works in the area of in-school and after-school youth education, creative and innovative government and civil service intervention, and large-scale public art projects that invite photographers, designers, and muralists to work with the communities.
