_ the now project (virtual) --- 2005The Now Project was a temporal, international collaboration of artists Maura Clarke, Tony Day, Rachel Mcintire, Amanda Leigh Lichtenstein, Victor Young, Jessica Pierce, Terry Costello, Maya Erdelyi-Perez and Lucas DuClos responding artistically to the word NOW. Over the course of several months, writers, dancers, muralists, and painters from Mexico City, Chicago, Somerville, and Cambridge created art work that explored NOW as both a concept and a word. Artists created site-specific street performance, poetry, photography, and dance, which was later featured in an online gallery exhibition.
NOVEMBER - DECEMBER 2005.
NOW IS SORRY
Now is a wart
A spectacle
Now refuses
To move
It wanders,
Salted at the hip
Crawls reckless
To ancient caves
Now is tender,
A freckled thing
Broken, edgy
Glassy-eyed
Now sips
Poison, patient
Now waits
For next time
It hides
And lies
Bursts
And curses
Now dirties
The map
Confuses
The sailor, his heart
Now envies
outer space.
It swims
in brain waves
Stumbles, drowns
Unsteady.
Now has bad
Breath, a loose
Tooth. Now
Is sorry.
