_ ripley writes project -- 2006/07

Over the last two years, poet/writer Amanda Leigh Lichtenstein partnered with the Chautauqua County Arts Council and their RIPLEY WRITES project as a visiting poet. During one-week residencies, students wrote poetry in response to themes and questions raised in their science, math, and social studies curricula. The residency culminated in a final reading of 5th and 6th grade students in the school library. Students also created anthologies of student writing with the help of David Schein, resident writer and ED of The Arts Council of Chautauqua County, in 2007 Ripley, NY is a small, rural community in western New York.
